Cargo Control Product Warnings ⚠️
Product Specific Warnings ⚠️
Chain Binders
-
Match the chain binder’s WLL with the transport chain’s rating.
-
DO NOT use a cheater pipe or bar to gain additional leverage when tightening or loosening a binder. This increases the risk of slippage or recoil.
-
Always secure the binder handle in place (e.g., with a safety pin or wire) to prevent accidental release during transport.
-
Stay out of the direct path of the binder handle when tensioning or releasing, as sudden release can result in serious injury.
Chain Hooks
-
Verify that hooks are compatible with the chain’s grade and size.
-
Inspect hooks for cracks, deformation, or damage to latches before use.
L-Track
-
Install L-Track using manufacturer-recommended fasteners and methods to ensure proper load capacity.
-
Regularly inspect tracks for bending, cracking, or damage that could compromise strength.
-
Ensure fittings are securely locked into the track before applying tension to avoid unintended release.
Slings
-
Inspect slings thoroughly for cuts, abrasions, chemical exposure, or UV damage before each use.
-
DO NOT tie knots in slings or use them with damaged edges or stitching. This weakens the sling and can lead to failure.
-
Protect slings from sharp corners using corner guards or edge protectors.
-
Use slings only for loads within their specified WLL and avoid exceeding the angle limitations for lifting applications.
Transport Chains
-
Use only chains rated for your application, DO NOT use for lifting.
-
DO NOT attempt to repair chains by welding, bending, or altering links. Damaged chains must be removed from service immediately.
-
Ensure chains are properly tensioned and secured before transport. Loose chains can shift and cause accidents.
-
Store chains in a clean, dry area to prevent rust and corrosion.
Winches
-
Ensure winches are securely mounted on an appropriate frame or surface capable of handling the rated load.
-
NEVER use winches with damaged straps, cables, or chains. Inspect and replace components as necessary.
-
Keep hands, clothing, and hair away from the winch drum and moving parts during operation.
-
DO NOT use winches for purposes other than load securement, such as lifting or towing, unless specifically rated for those applications.
Winch Bars
-
Use only with winches designed to be compatible with winch bars.
-
DO NOT use a cheater bar or other extensions to increase leverage. This can result in slipping, recoil, or damage to the winch bar and winch.
-
Ensure the bar is fully seated in the winch capstan or pawl before applying pressure. A poorly seated bar may slip under force.
-
Always position yourself to the side of the winch bar to avoid injury in the event of a sudden release or slippage.
Webbing
-
Inspect webbing straps for fraying, cuts, burns, or chemical exposure before every use.
-
DO NOT use webbing that has been exposed to extreme heat, chemicals, or prolonged UV light without inspecting its integrity.
-
Avoid tying knots in webbing or over-tightening ratchets, as this reduces strength and may cause failure.
-
Use corner protectors or wear pads to protect webbing from sharp or abrasive surfaces during use.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE WARNINGS MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
For replacement parts, inspection guidelines, or additional product information, contact the manufacturer or refer to your product manual. Always comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations governing the use of load-securing and lifting equipment.
